Terms of Use
Last updated: October 7, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Been mobile application and the website at beentogether.app (together, “Been”). By using Been, you agree to these terms.
What Been is
Been is a personal travel life log: you can pin places, journal visits, optionally sync across devices, and read travel tips from Wikivoyage and the community. Features may change over time.
Accounts
You may use Been without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and do not use another person’s account.
Your content
You retain ownership of the pins, journals, photos, and tips you create. You grant us a limited license to host, sync, display, and process that content solely to operate Been (for example, syncing to your other devices and showing community tips you choose to publish).
Do not post content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, or that includes others’ personal data without permission. We may remove content that violates these terms.
Third-party material
Map data, place search, and Wikivoyage excerpts come from third parties and may be subject to their licenses and terms (including Creative Commons for Wikivoyage). We do not control those services and are not responsible for their availability or accuracy.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to disrupt, scrape abusively, or reverse-engineer Been beyond what the law allows
- Do not use Been to spam or distribute malware
- Do not misuse the Guides API or authentication tokens
Disclaimer
Been is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Travel information may be incomplete or outdated. You use Been at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of Been.
Termination
You may stop using Been at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle information.
Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
